Using the compliance task Kanban board

The Tasks module is a Kanban-style board for tracking compliance remediation actions. Tasks move through three columns: Open → In Progress → Completed.

Creating a task

  1. 1 Go to Dashboard → Tasks.
  2. 2 Click + New Task (bottom right), or create from a risk card.
  3. 3 Enter a Task Title and Description.
  4. 4 Set Priority: Low, Medium, High, or Critical.
  5. 5 Select a Category: Risk Mitigation, Policy Review, Audit, Security, Training, Legal, Compliance, or Other.
  6. 6 Assign to a staff member (free text — does not need to be a Folelse user).
  7. 7 Set a Due Date.
  8. 8 Optionally link to a Related Risk and/or Related Asset.
  9. 9 Click Save. The task appears in the Open column.

Moving tasks between columns

Use the quick-action buttons on each task card:

  • "→ Start" — moves the task from Open to In Progress.
  • "→ Complete" — moves the task from In Progress to Completed.
  • "↺ Reopen" — moves a Completed task back to Open (e.g. if it was marked complete prematurely).

Filtering tasks

Use the filter dropdowns at the top of the board to filter by Priority, Category, or Assignee. The task count badges on each column update dynamically as you filter.

Overdue tasks

Tasks past their due date are highlighted in red on the board and counted in the "Overdue" stat on your dashboard. Overdue high/critical tasks are also flagged in your weekly email digest (if enabled in Notifications).

On mobile, the Kanban board switches to a tab-based layout. Tap the "Open", "In Progress", and "Completed" tabs to switch between columns.
