Configuring email notifications and digests

Folelse sends automated email notifications for deadlines, overdue items, and important events. You can customise which notifications are sent and to whom.

Notification types

• SAR deadline approaching — sent 7 days and 3 days before the 30-day deadline.
• SAR overdue — sent when a SAR passes its deadline without being marked complete.
• Breach 72-hour deadline — sent as soon as a breach is logged (countdown reminder).
• Breach overdue ICO notification — sent if 72 hours passes without ICO notification recorded.
• Policy review due — sent 30 days and 7 days before a policy review date.
• Asset owner inactive — sent when an asset's owner is deactivated.
• DPA expiring — sent 60 and 30 days before a DPA expiry date.
• Weekly compliance digest — summary of open items, overdue tasks, and upcoming deadlines.
• DSPT deadline reminder (NHS) — sent 60, 30, and 7 days before the DSPT submission deadline.

How to configure notifications

1. 1 Go to Dashboard → Settings → Notifications.
2. 2 Toggle each notification type on or off.
3. 3 Set who receives each notification: All Admins, DPO only, or specific email addresses.
4. 4 Configure the weekly digest: day of week, time, and included sections.
5. 5 Click Save.

Individual user notification preferences

Individual users can also adjust their personal notification preferences. Go to Dashboard → Profile → Notification Preferences to opt in or out of specific alerts.
